Shiseido Lacquer Rouge: Reviewed

If you’re after a product that bridges a lipstick and a lipgloss, then Lacquer Rouge by Shiseido is well worth a look. It applies like a gloss, with a wand and tube as you can see above. The Lacquer goes on smoothly and easily, and feels quite moisturising as its applied.

I tried a rich nude shade – Camel BE306, which is a light caramel beige, which probably suits slightly darker skintones, and would look great with a tan.

The finish probably more akin to a lipstick that a gloss. The product does look creamy on the lips but there is no high shine. The inspiration behind this product was the rich tradition of Japanese lacquer, but I’m not sure this effect is really achieved. The packaging is as slick as you would expect however, and you do get delivered a shot of colour with just the one sweep.

Check out Disco RS404 (hot fuchsia pink) and Drama RD501 (strong red) for punchier shades to add a little colour for Spring.

The Lacquer Rouge costs £23 and is available here

Have you tried these yet?
