Guerlain Rose Aux Joues and Givenchy L’Argent Celeste: Reviewed

For me, this post post combines two of my favourite beauty brands – Guerlain and Givenchy, both French houses synonymous with an amazaing heritage, excellent quality and incredibly chic packaging.

Guerlain’s Rose Aux Joues blush duo, pictures here in 01 Peach Boy, is a really beautiful blush palette that encapsulates Guerlain’s approach to beauty. The gold palette is heavy and feels really qualitative, and when you open the box, the palette, as always, comes in a sumptuous velvet pouch.

The product itself is really pretty, with one powder blush in a rose pink/peach tone, and a sheerer highlighter blusher that definitely has more of a peach tone to it. The shades are both really easy to apply, but I would use a proper blusher brush, rather than the applicator it comes with. The main blusher would be great to apples of cheeks, and the effect is pretty and healthy. It comes delicately fragranced, which add to its charm. You can buy it from John Lewis for £29 here

The Givenchy L’Argent Celeste is the perfect product for the Christmas party season! It’s an exquisite shimmer spray, complete with vintage style puff for a bit of old school glamour. This looks just fabulous on a dressing table (which is lucky as it’s a bit wieldy to be carrying around in your makeup bag).

The starry loose powder is beautifully fragranced, and even the scent has a hint of vintage Hollywood glamour to it, a soft powdery floral scent. One puff releases enough shimmer onto the back of the hand to be applied to cheekbones, but really this is designed for the decolletage, where it will perfectly highlight clavicles, such a beautiful part of a woman’s body. Whilst not for everyday use, this is a really luxurious treat for a special occasion. It’s currently sold out so keep an eye out on Amazon and ebay!

What do you think?
